Hypodermic Needles/ Syringes
NEVER pick up a syringe, as it can contain pathogens. Call your local town hall or police for a Sharps disposal kit; they can deliver it to a safe disposal site like a hospital. If you are pricked by a needle, call Maine Center for Disease Control - 800-821-5821 and ask to speak to an epidemiologist.
Stormwater Pollution
Stormdrains empty to the Bay; therefore it is important that no waste of any kind is dumped onto street surfaces, into stormdrains or near drainage pipes. To report a violation:
