Watch the world premiere of a film about us! In celebration of our 20th anniversary, USM Media Studies students Shane Roma, Christine Wilson, and John Spires spent hundreds of hours creating this film that captures the essence of our organization, from training volunteers in water testing to patrolling Casco Bay on our Baykeeper boat. Local celebrities featured in the film include Oakhurst Dairy President Stanley T. Bennett II and Olympic athlete Joan Benoit Samuelson.
WATERKEEPER Alliance: Celebrating 10 Years - 4 min.
What do juvenile delinquents do when they grow up? The lucky ones become Waterkeepers, leaders of the world’s fastest growing environmental organization. So says Casco Baykeeper Joe Payne, one of the founders of Waterkeeper Alliance ten years ago. He points to the passionate, outspoken advocates for their water bodies from the Great Lakes to the Gulf of Mexico, the Amazon to the Ganges. With nearly 200 waterkeepers worldwide, Waterkeeper Alliance has become a powerful voice for the world’s waters.
